World AIDS Day
Quiet, isn’t it?
Once upon a time there was a lot of noise made on the web about World AIDS Day, with projects like Link and Think (see various postings on my old blog) encouraging bloggers to join in with the more formal coverage of the day and the spread of the disease. The BBC News site would regularly create microsites on the subject, as would a number of the newspapers.
But here we are on the twentieth anniversary of the first World AIDS Day and apart from the sites of AIDS organisations themselves, it’s all a bit low-key.
EDIT: To add this link to the BBC News site. I think the title of the piece says it all: Did Aids change America? Note that ‘did’. As if the disease is over and now we’re having a retrospective. I think that makes my point for me.

Yeah, I noticed that too.
Admittedly, I didn’t do a custom World Aids Day post either - although in my defence December kind of surprised me this year…
