Paul Newman
I see that Paul Newman had died. Probably one of the few actors of whom you could still legitimately use the phrase ’screen legend’, and one of the few who managed to be successful in other areas of endeavour, in some ways to the same degree as he was as an actor. I have a large carton of his lemonade in my fridge right now as a matter of fact :-) The charitable principle of his Newman’s Own brand is something people sometimes forget.
It doesn’t hurt that he also married (and stayed married to) one of my favourite actors, Joanne Woodward.
